[동향보고] 미국 EPA, 유해성이 낮은 화학물질 발표

TSCA*(독성물질관리법)에 따르면 미국 환경보호국(EPA**)은 특정 TSCA 통지를 검토한 후 신규 화학물질이나 중요한 신규 사용이 인체나 환경에 불합리한 위험을 초래할 가능성이 없다고 판단한 경우 해당 결과에 대한 성명을 연방 관보에 게시해야 합니다.

이러한 고시는 TSCA에 따라 EPA에 제출된 PMN*(제조 전 고지), MCAN**(미생물 상업 활동 고지) 및 SNUN***(중요한 신규 사용 신고)에 적용됩니다.

EPA는 지난 1월 27일 2021년 12월 1일부터 12월 31일까지 평가한 아래 물질에 대하여 화학 물질 또는 중요한 새로운 용도가 건강이나 환경에 대한 부당한 위험을 초래할 가능성이 없다고 발표하였습니다.
